About 1980. Jellystone Park in Tennessee. Four adults and three kids made the 12 hour trip in a Datsun B210! Now, we think we need a Ford Expedition to transport one child to the grocery store.

Now... a few shots from the archives...

  These are the "big kids."  We started that distinction a long time ago and though it makes no sense at all today, it still sticks.  Of course, the problem isn't that the big kids are no longer big, it's the "little kids" that refuse to fit the moniker.  This was most likely an Easter Sunday.  I'd say sometime around 1985.  L to R:  Jared, Justus, April.

  The great delousing of 1990.  We were getting ready for a road trip with the Broadbents.  Another friend had just left and phoned to say that her kids had lice.  Well, the van was going to be crowded enough without lice to take up extra room.  So, they were all treated, loved every minute of it, and hammed it up for the camera.
