Are modeling and management completely independent activites?
Can modeling change (improve) our intuition about moments greater than 1?
Should modeling change our behavior on Monday?
Notes:
This last query lead me first to question whether management and modeling were essentially independent activites with models having utility only insomuch as they were tools charged with directly answering queries which management had raised and found insufficient answers to.
Reflecting back on these three quotes, lead me to ask a couple questions. Can models help improve our limited ability to deal with variance and should they provoke us to different behavior on ‘Monday?”
